Keloid scars are the ones that tend to raise up above the surface of the skin and can head up or almost appear to keep growing. The tissues is dense and thick and often discolored or pink. Keloids can be tough because they do not quit growing and can keep getting bigger and bigger over time. There are creams that work well on the types of scars. One of the latest that performs the best is a snail extract that we use in our snail cream. The snail extract literally eats away at the dead skin to remove the raised up scar.

Keloid scars can be the result of burns, piercings, surgery, plastic surgery, injury, skin tears and more. In the beginning they tend to follow the outline of the scar but with time simply take a life of their own. Dark skin people are more susceptible to these types of scars versus hypertropic. These scars can cause quite an itch and even hurt when you touch them sometimes.
